In the early hours of December 12, 1877, the Court Opera soirée defied all expectations. Although an imperial decree had forbidden dancing, the waltz-addicted Viennese could not resist. Chairs were pushed aside, silk rustled – and the forbidden rhythm seized the hall.
Ballroom Bohème captures the opulence and quiet disobedience of this legendary night in a fragrance. Warm tobacco meets the sweet depth of black vanilla and tonka absolute, while iris butter provides an elegant, powdery note. Virginia cedarwood, amber, and mangrove wood (Black Oud) lend warmth, depth, and a sensuously smoky facet to the composition. Clove adds a spicy accent.
