Maison Crivelli – the Paris house that turns travel into perfume
Maison Crivelli was founded by Thibaud Crivelli, who runs the house from Paris. Born in Paris and raised between France's Massif Central and Provence, he moved to China in 2006 and spent a decade travelling between Asian countries. Those years on the road still shape the house's fragrances today. At SNUD in Vienna-Josefstadt you can smell and try them and take samples home with you.
What makes Maison Crivelli special to us?
We love that every fragrance grows out of a lived memory – and that the house thinks sustainably throughout, without making a big noise about it. The compositions surprise: Hibiscus Mahajád brings together flower and fruit, Oud Stallion leather and spice, and Rose Saltifolia shows the rose fresh and aquatic.
Who are Maison Crivelli fragrances for?
For anyone who loves fragrances with wanderlust and enjoys discovering the unexpected. If you like it fresh, start with Citrus Batikanga, Absinthe Boréale or Fleur Diamantine; if you love florals, with Hibiscus Mahajád, Iris Malikhân or Tubéreuse Astrale; and if you're after warm, woody and intense, with Oud Stallion, Ambre Chromatique or Safran Secret.
The house's approach to nature is empirical and multisensory – it doesn't happen at a desk but on the road, in direct contact with raw materials, landscapes and memories. Every fragrance begins as a moodboard concept that Thibaud Crivelli has lived himself, before perfumers refine it over months, sometimes up to two years – among them Quentin Bisch, Jordi Fernández, Bertrand Duchaufour and Nathalie Feisthauer.
Often raw materials meet that you wouldn't expect together: Oud Maracujá pairs fruit with leather and wood, Papyrus Moléculaire is green, woody and spicy, and Neroli Nasimba shows orange blossom leathery, spicy and green.
Vegan, plastic-free, with Cœur de Forêt
All the fragrances are fully vegan and come plastic-free in FSC-certified packaging. Through its partnership with Cœur de Forêt, Maison Crivelli supports sustainable patchouli farming in Indonesia.
The house distinguishes between Eaux de Parfum and more intense Extraits de Parfum. The Extraits include the bestsellers Hibiscus Mahajád and Oud Maracujá, Safran Secret, Ambre Chromatique and the new Tobacco Carnaval; the Eaux de Parfum include the luminous Papyrus Moléculaire, Rose Saltifolia and Santal Volcanique.
