L.T. Piver – a Paris perfume house since 1774
L.T. Piver begins in Paris in 1774, when Michel Adam opens the boutique "À la Reine des Fleurs", whose scents soon win over Marie Antoinette. Since 2021 Nelly Chenelat has been reviving the house, bringing the historic formulas back to life in its own manufacture in Chartres. At SNUD in Vienna-Josefstadt you can smell and try the fragrances and take samples home with you.

We love that at L.T. Piver you can smell perfume history without it ever feeling dusty. À la Reine des Fleurs is as herbal and fresh as it was 250 years ago, Cuir de Russie smoky and refined, Nohiba a dark, spicy vanilla – and the boxes, hand-watercoloured and gilded, are little works of art.
Who are L.T. Piver fragrances for?
For anyone who wants to smell perfume history and loves classic fragrances with depth. If you like fresh and aromatic, start with À la Reine des Fleurs, Eau des Princes or Un Parfum d'Aventure; if you're after floral and powdery, with Héliotrope Blanc or Pompeïa; and if you love warm, spicy or leathery, with Nohiba, Cuir de Russie or Rêve d'Or. With the Olfactory Library you can get to know seven fragrances at once.
A house of curiosity
Under the Piver family, named after Louis-Toussaint Piver, the boutique grew into one of the great perfume houses of the 19th century: with boutiques on the Boulevard des Italiens, medals at the World's Fairs and its own school, founded by Alphonse Piver in 1867 for twenty-five orphans. Pierre François Pascal Guerlain also took his first steps at Piver. In 1885 the chemist and perfumer Georges Darzens used heliotropin for the first time in Héliotrope Blanc, and in 1889 aldehydes in Rêve d'Or, decades before they became famous.
You'll find both fragrances at SNUD: Héliotrope Blanc is floral, powdery and gourmand, Rêve d'Or fruity, woody and spicy. Pompeïa, floral and fruity, also comes from Georges Darzens.
Matured in drawers
Guided by vintage bottles, handwritten formulas and archive records, the historic formulas are made once again today in the manufacture in Chartres. Each scent matures for three to four months "en tiroirs", in drawers, before it is bottled. L.T. Piver holds the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label for living French craftsmanship.
At SNUD, Nohiba is available as an Extrait de Parfum – amber, spicy and leathery – and À la Reine des Fleurs also as a scented candle.
