Kinetic Perfumes is a niche perfume label from Barcelona that sees fragrance as kinetic energy – as movement, memory and emotion. Each creation is dedicated to a particular feeling and is made with perfumers from Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon and Bern. Every scent is an Extrait de Parfum, from the powdery, ambery trail of Sillage to the leathery, salty night of Insomnia. At SNUD in Vienna-Josefstadt you can smell and try them and take samples home with you.
What makes Kinetic special to us?
We love how alive these fragrances are – they change on the skin and stay exciting the whole way through. Sillage combines oud, raspberry and suede, Nel blooms with lychee, rose and jasmine from Grasse, Kayu lays frankincense from Oman over oud from Thailand and Laos. Each scent tells its own story, and together they make a collection where there is always something new to discover.
Who are Kinetic fragrances for?
For anyone who wants to experience perfume rather than just wear it, and who is looking for fragrances with depth and character. If you like it fresh, start with Verdigris; if you love leather and warmth, with Unreal, Mosaic or Neo Sillage. The easiest way to find your favourite is the Discovery Set with eight scents of 2 ml each.
The name comes from physics: kinetics is the study of motion and energy. That is exactly how the brand sees perfume – scent molecules move, unfold on the skin and create a sensual form of kinetic energy, alive and constantly changing. Like music, painting or sculpture, perfume is an art form here, and every creation captures a special moment or emotion.
On the skin this shows in very different directions: Verdigris is fresh, citrusy and aquatic, Kayu sweet, woody and spicy, Unreal woody, spicy and leathery.
Four perfumers, one signature
For every story, Kinetic looks for the right nose. Chris Maurice composed Sillage, Neo Sillage, Kayu, Unreal and the fresh Verdigris, Mark Buxton the floral Nel, Miguel Matos the nocturnal Insomnia and Marc Daniel Heimgartner the spicy Mosaic with saffron, caramel and oud. So each creation sounds different and still carries the house's shared signature.
Insomnia by Miguel Matos is fresh, aquatic and leathery at once, Nel by Mark Buxton floral, fruity and sweet. Chris Maurice created Sillage and Neo Sillage, two scents that both bring together leather, fruit and sweetness.
