Sarah Baker – perfume as art from East London
Sarah Baker is a fine artist, and that is exactly how she thinks about perfume: every fragrance from her London house is a little film scene with its own mini screenplay. Together with Andy Hsu she runs the family business from a studio in East London, and the extraits are developed with perfumers such as Chris Maurice, Margaux Le Paih-Guérin and Ashley Eden Kessler. At SNUD in Vienna-Josefstadt you can smell and try them and take samples home with you.

Every scent a film scene
Before a Sarah Baker scent is made, there is a story: every perfume is a little film scene with its own mini screenplay, which Sarah translates into scent together with the perfumers. The extraits are filled in small batches in the studio in East London, where the boxes are stamped by hand. That way Sarah Baker stays a family business that keeps every detail in its own hands.

The noses behind the scenes
For every scene Sarah Baker looks for the right signature. Chris Maurice composed the sweet classics Peach's Revenge, Rococo Pie and Gold Spot, Margaux Le Paih-Guérin the vanilla scents Velvet Vendetta and Va Va Vanilla as well as Year XOXO. Ashley Eden Kessler created the fresh Greek Keys, Sarah McCartney the aquatic Atlante, and Sarah Baker composed Flame & Fortune herself.
How different these signatures sound shows especially in the vanilla: in Velvet Vendetta it turns sweet, smoky and woody, in Va Va Vanilla spicy and gourmand.
