Cuir de Russie is leathery, smoky and refined. Bergamot, mandarin and cardamom open bright and peppery, smoked oud, lavender, clove, nutmeg and cumin meet at the heart, before leather, patchouli and cedar settle into a deep, time-worn base.

The story behind it moves us: Cuir de Russie is inspired by Russian leather that sank with the ship Metta Catharina in 1786 and was recovered from the sea centuries later – tanned with bark and steeped in smoked birch. The fragrance captures exactly that smoky patina, without ever turning coarse.
