ELLA K is a French niche fragrance house from Paris, founded in 2018 by Givaudan perfumer Sonia Constant. Every scent tells of a place she has travelled to herself – Poème de Sagano of the bamboo grove in northwest Kyoto.

Poème de Sagano smells of green tea, citrus and bamboo – fresh, green and zesty. Bergamot, yuzu and grapefruit open clear and sparkling, bamboo, matcha tea and shiso leaves join in the heart to form a cool, green picture, before patchouli, cedarwood and musk lay down a calm, woody base.

Poème de Sagano is best in spring and summer and suits the daytime. This unisex scent feels light and focused at once – a fragrance for taking a deep breath.

What makes Poème de Sagano special to us is its green side: matcha and shiso give the citrus a serious, almost meditative depth that you rarely find in fresh scents. In 2024 it received the Golden Osmanthus Award as a Top Overseas Fragrance.
