Cacao, chocolate smoke and plum open it dark and sweet, date, cinnamon and tonka bean come together at the heart into a warm, spiced picture, before oud, leather and vanilla settle into a deep, woody-sweet base.

What makes Diwan Gourmand special to us is the chocolate smoke in its opening: instead of showing chocolate as merely sweet, it gets an immediate smoky, almost bitter edge that keeps the whole fragrance from turning too polite.
