Andrea Maack – Icelandic niche perfumery from the visual artist of the same name, who has been bringing art, fashion and fragrance together since her first scent exhibition in 2010.

Magma is fiery, smoky and sensual – inspired by a volcanic eruption near Andrea Maack's studio. Lemon, black pepper and incense open like hot rock, rose, myrrh and saffron glow at the heart, before patchouli, tonka bean and soft suede lay down a warm, long-lasting base.

Magma is at its best in autumn and winter, by day and by night. Gender-neutral and an expressive signature scent for anyone who prefers their rose dark rather than sweet.

To us, Magma is one of the most distinctive roses in our range. Dominique Ropion – known for Portrait of a Lady and Carnal Flower by Frédéric Malle – sets it between incense and suede, and suddenly the rose is no longer a bouquet but embers. Rose and suede are Andrea Maack's central raw materials here, and that tension carries the whole scent.
