PERNOIRE – a Swiss niche perfume label from Basel, founded in 2020 by childhood friends Nico Mannino and Robin Dünner and composed together with perfumer Andreas Wilhelm.

Otimo smells gourmand-fruity with a warm, amber finish – a scent like an afternoon at a patisserie in late autumn. Quince, cardamom and rum open it fruity and spiced, tobacco, praline, patchouli and tonka come together at the heart into a dense, sweet picture, before cedarwood, vanilla and osmanthus settle into a warm, amber base.

Otimo works best in autumn, winter and in the evening. The unisex scent makes a sweet, yet grown-up signature scent.

What makes Otimo special to us is the quince in its opening: instead of starting with the expected sweetness, the scent opens tart and fruity and only eases into praline and tobacco at the heart – a slower, more interesting route to gourmand.
