ADAMO – a niche perfume label from the Milan area that translates coastal places into bottles in its Costiera Collection: Cap Cana, Miami, Cape Town – black-and-white packaging, made in Italy. Juanillo, named after the beach at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, is by Julien Rasquinet and, according to the brand, received an Honorable Mention at the Art & Olfactory Awards.
Juanillo smells like the tropics in a glass – lemon, orange and mandarin at the start, then coconut, a date accord and pistachio, and beneath them ambroxan, praline and musk that let everything fade out creamy and sweet.
Juanillo belongs to spring and summer, by day as well as in the evening – a genderneutral fragrance for holidays, beaches and mild evenings when you like to wear something edible on your skin.
What makes Juanillo special to us is that the coconut does not sound like sunscreen here: the citrus keeps it fresh, the pistachio gives it bite, and ambroxan and musk make sure the fragrance stays on skin for a long time.
