Claus Porto was founded in Porto in 1887 by the German businessmen Ferdinand Claus and Georges Schweder – as Portugal's first soap and fragrance factory. Later Ach Brito, the company of a former bookkeeper of the firm, took over what remained of Claus & Schweder, and the soaps are still made in Porto today. The house is famous for its labels, drawn from an archive of hand-drawn designs built up over more than 130 years, somewhere between Portuguese architecture and Art Deco; the soaps are wrapped by hand, the classics sealed with lacquer. At SNUD you'll find Ondina Sea Mist, Agua Colonia Vetyver, 8741 Pear Sandalwood and Deco Encens Eucalyptus – plus the Trevo Guest Box with 15 little guest soaps, a gift that delights instantly.
