PERNOIRE – a Swiss niche perfume label from Basel, founded in 2020 by childhood friends Nico Mannino and Robin Dünner and composed together with perfumer Andreas Wilhelm.

Melos smells gourmand-floral with a milky, amber heart – a scent inspired by Cleopatra VII and her legendary milk baths. Rose tea, grape, grapefruit and blackcurrant open it fruity and tart, rose, Nile honey, saffron, hazelnut and baked apple come together at the heart into a warm floral picture, before milk, musk, amber and patchouli settle into a soft, creamy base.

Melos works best in autumn and in the evening. The unisex scent makes a lush, sensual signature scent.

What makes Melos special to us is the milk note in its base: it turns rose and honey into something softer, almost skin-close – less the usual perfume idea of luxury, more a direct, warm feeling on the skin itself.
