PERNOIRE – a Swiss niche perfume label from Basel, founded in 2020 by childhood friends Nico Mannino and Robin Dünner and composed together with perfumer Andreas Wilhelm.

Mansa smells woody-powdery with a rosy heart – a scent like dark velvet with a rose laid on top. Blackberry, pink pepper and iris open it fruity and powdery, oud, rose, amber, blackcurrant and saffron come together at the heart into a dense, warm floral picture, before patchouli, heliotrope, moss and musk settle into a soft, woody base.

Mansa works best in autumn and suits day and evening alike. The unisex scent feels elegant and soft, with enough depth to never feel casual.

What makes Mansa special to us is the interplay of oud and heliotrope: the rough, woody side of oud meets the almond-powdery sweetness of heliotrope – two textures that soften one another.
