Christian Tortu – the Parisian florist from Anjou who grew up in his parents’ market garden and turned his love of nature into candles, home fragrances and body care. Forêts was the first scent in his collection.
Forêts smells like a walk beneath the trees. Pine, orange and cypress open resinous and fresh, cedar, mint and clove sit at the heart, and labdanum and praline fade out warm. Tortu describes it as resin, pine needles, cistus labdanum, the leaves and wood of Virginia cedar, tree moss and freshly cut grass. The diffuser (250 ml) spreads the scent through wooden sticks – no flame needed – and is made in France.
The diffuser is meant for rooms where a candle is not an option: hallway, bathroom, study or living room. It scents quietly and evenly throughout the day.
What makes Forêts as a diffuser special to us: the forest becomes a permanent state – nothing to light, nothing to think about, the scent is simply there. Green, resinous and soft at once.
