Ajyal smells fruity-green and softly floral-warm at once – a scent built around the idea of generations. Bergamot, plum and a damp, almost rain-soaked petrichor note open it bright and alive, cherry blossom, osmanthus and jasmine sambac unfold into a delicate bouquet at the heart, before cedarwood, vanilla and brown sugar settle into a warm, lightly powdery-sweet base.

Ajyal works best in the warmer months and during the day, though its warm base carries it well into mild evenings too. The unisex scent is easy enough for everyday wear and distinctive enough to be remembered.

What makes Ajyal special to us is the idea behind it: the name simply means "generations" in Arabic, and the fragrance was inspired by the Ghaf tree – a symbol of resilience in the Emirates, as it puts down roots in the desert where almost nothing else grows. That mix of delicacy and endurance, fruity-floral up top, warm and earthy underneath, is something we rarely find this convincingly resolved elsewhere in our range.
