What makes Paramour special for us is the contrast between its fruity, candy-like opening and the smoky leather in its base – inspired by the traditional Omani sweet halva, yet never tipping into kitsch. Philippe Paparella-Paris strikes a balance of sweetness and smoke that we rarely find this well calibrated.
