Sillage – Extrait de Parfum

KINETIC PERFUMES BARCELONA – a niche perfume label from Barcelona that sees fragrance as kinetic energy: movement, memory and emotion. Sillage was composed by Chris Maurice, Barcelona's specialist in oriental niche scents.

Sillage smells powdery-ambery and soft – a scent like a long-exposure photograph. Oud, violet and saffron open not as a sharp image but as an afterimage, olibanum, jasmine and raspberry trace the contours at the heart, before suede, musk, vanilla, benzoin and amber lay down a warm base.

Sillage works best in autumn and winter and suits the evening. The unisex scent feels calm yet present – like an imprint on the sheets.

What makes Sillage special to us is the oud: instead of darkening the room, it is a light ribbon along which the other ingredients line up, softened by saffron and violet – a scent that doesn't say “I was here” but “I am here”.
