Iris Tannat – Millésime Parfum

Danner & Flemming is a Bavarian fragrance atelier built on an unusual promise: more iris than perfumery thought possible. Christian Danner cultivates the iris rhizomes on Bavarian fields, biologist Marcel Flemming refines them into extract and butter – and master perfumer Antoine Lie works them into a concentration he himself calls unprecedented. Iris Tannat, named after the Basque grape variety Tannat, is the newest and darkest fragrance of the Selection 2026.
Iris Tannat brings together mineral powderiness, dark floral notes and the complexity of aged wines. Nutmeg, rum extract and ylang-ylang open warm and spicy; at the heart, Bavarian iris pallida butter and iris germanica extract meet rose absolute. Wine yeast extract, an oak cask CO2 extract, a suede accord, patchouli and vetiver give the base its depth – Bavarian soils, Burgundian oak and the wines of the Pyrenees in a single bottle.
Iris Tannat works best on autumn and winter evenings – a unisex fragrance for anyone who wants to meet iris from its dark, velvety side.
What makes this fragrance special to us: the way it brings iris and wine together without letting either take over – mineral, dark and velvety all at once. Every bottle of the Selection 2026 is numbered, limited to 893 pieces and comes in a signature box with a piece of iris rhizome and a vial of pure iris essence.
