ELLA K is a French niche fragrance house from Paris, founded in 2018 by Givaudan perfumer Sonia Constant. Every scent tells of a place she has travelled to herself – Camelia K of a journey to Sapa in northern Vietnam.
Camelia K smells of sweet, luminous seduction. Blood orange and dragon fruit open juicy, red camellia and orange blossom bloom in the heart, before tonka bean and vetiver lay down a warm base. Ginger and sambac jasmine add heat, vanilla and patchouli add depth.
Camelia K suits every season and works for day and evening. This unisex scent feels sensual and radiant – a fragrance that gets noticed without getting loud.
What makes Camelia K special to us is the story behind it: Sonia Constant took her cue from Wong Kar-wai's film In the Mood for Love and Dumas' novel La Dame aux camélias – suppressed desire, translated into flowers and warmth. In 2024 the scent was named an Extra Ordinary Perfume by The Fragrance Foundation UK.
