Vanilla Affair – Extrait de Parfum

D'ORSAY is a Paris fragrance house named after the dandy Alfred d'Orsay. Vanilla Affair as an Extrait de Parfum tells his forbidden love for Marguerite of Blessington – thirty years, beginning in 1821 at St James's Square in London.
Vanilla Affair smells of a vanilla you don't know from the bakery: set twice, from Madagascar vanilla absolute and Bourbon vanilla, with tobacco, tonka bean and cistus in the opening lending it something smoky and forbidden. White musk, patchouli and amber lay the warmth of skin underneath.
Vanilla Affair suits evenings that are not meant for every eye – and every season, densest in winter. As an extrait it has the depth vanilla needs to feel grown-up.
What makes Vanilla Affair special to us is the story you can actually smell: tobacco from the Balkans, vanilla, amber – a love affair that was never allowed to be fully public, translated into a scent that stays close and lingers. Gourmand for those who prefer to wear vanilla with a secret.
