Christian Tortu – the Parisian florist from Anjou who grew up in his parents’ market garden and turned his love of nature into candles, home fragrances and body care. Forêts was the first scent in his collection.
Forêts smells like a walk beneath the trees. Pine, orange and cypress open resinous and fresh, cedar, mint and clove sit at the heart, and labdanum and praline fade out warm. Tortu describes it as resin, pine needles, cistus labdanum, the leaves and wood of Virginia cedar, tree moss and freshly cut grass. The room spray (100 ml) is made in France.
The room spray is the quick route to forest air: one or two sprays into the room, onto cushions or curtains – and the atmosphere shifts without taking over.
What makes Forêts as a room spray special to us: it is the scent for the moment – before guests arrive, after airing the room, on the sofa. Less is more.
